Established in 2007, Movie Mogul Ltd is a
forward-thinking film production company dedicated to the
development and production of innovative feature
MM has always had an eye on the changing
digital landscape and new opportunities rising from emerging
platforms and direct to fan sales and marketing.
MM began its life as 'the World's first
community-generated and community-owned film fund' back in the web
2.0 days, which became known as the Movie Mogul Fund
(MMF). Movie Mogul Ltd was set up for this purpose and MMF was the
forerunner to a new wave in alternative film finance,
which became known as crowd funding, spawning websites such as
IndieGoGo, Kickstarter and Sponsume.
PANIC BUTTON was Movie Mogul's
first full-length feature film; a horror thriller, it's a modern
tale about the dangers of social networking and the
consequences of posting too much personal information online. It
was shot in just 23 days on a budget of under £500k on location in
Cardiff. The film received its World Premiere at Film4
FrightFest in 2011 and has sold to 22 territories
THE SLEEPING ROOM is MM's second feature film,
released in the UK in April 2015. It is billed as a creepy tale of
Victorian revenge and set in present day Brighton. The film was
shot in just 18 chilly days on location in Brighton in December
2013. THE SLEEPING ROOM made film history by becoming the first
feature film to equity crowdfund online, via the Seedrs platform.
It is currently available on DVD and VOD in UK, US and Canada.
